Appreciative Inquiry
An Invitation to deal with the future differently
How about the economy? The statement 'the future is no longer
what it used to be' seems to be on target. Predictability has become rather uncertain.
What we do know is that 'Business as usual' no longer applies. In the area of
change and organisation, change is necessary.
It does not make sense to use the same mechanical principles of change and subsequently expect an organic organisation. Many of our mental models about man and organisation are due for an update.
Another way of dealing with the relationships between man, organising and organisation is:
Appreciative Inquiry. This approach is both old (adult) and innovative.
Old: the method has been around for 25 years and has proven its reliability in projects covering team, organisation and community development.
Innovative: it is an approach with which new human and organisation images are gradually developed. The transformation from mechanical subject-object to organic thinking and acting. Here an organisation is seen as a living system whereby the involvement acquires a double dimension: working FOR implies working ON the organisation. For all employees, each at their own level. By viewing organising as an interpersonal process of co-creation, quite a lot of energy is released and problem-solving thinking is transcended.
Growing, developing and changing takes place at a speed required in these times.
May I invite you to take part in the Appreciative Inquiry workshop: binding leadership.
The workshop is organised practically;
firstly; it involves learning through experience, whereby theory is used to support practice (nothing as practical as a good theory).
secondly: in order to optimise the link between development during the workshop and change within the organisation, training is spread over two study periods in which the second period primarily focuses on casuistry. We would also like to recommend taking part with two or three people, since in this way
the appreciative range of ideas will have a broader base within your organisation.
